Keep KTOO on th Air... Quietly.

The station is well on its way towards having a great Quiet Drive which means more great listening for you! The more revenue KTOO raises now, the less time we will need to take on the air to secure the remaining needed funds.

As an added incentive for you to pledge now, we have a special drawing for you. On the first day of the On-Air Drive we will pull the names of 5 lucky Quiet Drive participants. Each will win a collection of items with our 2005 designs:
- a KTOO zipper pull & pin
- a KTOO ceramic latte mug
- a KTOO fleece vest
- a KTOO long sleeve t-shirt
- a set of KTOO 16 oz. glasses

While you do not have to pledge to participate in the drawing, we hope that you use this opportunity to contribute what you can today.

Thanks for your contribution today and for making the station so great!

OK, Rover: COME!!!

Kitty too! The time has finally arrived for KTOO's Dog and Cat Show!

Juneaumusic.com got a sneak preview of the show, and the chance to talk to organizer Jeff Brown. It was a fluffy furry, uh, fuffy flurry, uh, you know what we mean, getting all those pieces onto the walls at KTOO Thursday, where they will be adjudicated at 3. The results will be on display starting Friday, March 4, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., when there will be a hosted opening complete with food and alot of adorable eye candy.

Some is even pettable, although we ask that viewers just look, not touch. Among the cat-egories of work include quilts, photographs, pencil drawings, pastels, and paintings. It's a broad cross section of work by a broad cross section of Juneauites, with more than 50 entries. Jeff wanted to have a show in the gallery that the whole community could relate to. People certainly love their pets. And even for those of us who do not currently have pets of our own, he says, "animals often show us another side of ourselves." Does Jeff have pets? You bet! A dog, two cats, and a bird. Maybe the show will be repeated in the future, to include a broader cross section of species. Would it be entertaining to host a 'buck-o-bark' contest from Juneau radio days of yore? The ideas are beyond count.

For now, amidst the capital city's usual dog-and-pony show, these friends are plenty. Come on by to take a look. Bring lots of folks and family. Please leave the live animals at home or in the car, though. (The judges are quite enough.) Works will be on display at KTOO in the hallways through the month of March, 2005. The show is open to the public during regular business hours.
